Objection to Gwynt-Y- Mor Wind Farm Proposal

Dear Sir

I am writing to object to the plan to build a wind farm at Gwynt-Y-Mor. The proposal makes provision for some 200 large turbines that will be visible from the Llandudno promenade. This will ruin an area of outstanding beauty, which currently enjoys healthy visitor numbers. Llandudno is not only a charming place to live but it is popular with visitors from nearby towns and cities. There are also plenty of foreign visitors coming from Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

1.      Will people still flock to Llandudno after its beautiful outlook across the bay has been destroyed?

2.      What will be the impact on local jobs and the wider impact on the communities in the Conwy Valley, which attracts visitors who have come for a short break in Llandudno?

3.  Surely renewable energy options can be pursued without causing

such wanton destruction to an area that is making such a vital

contribution to the North Wales tourist industry?

Npower’s plans put at risk the local tourist econmy and threatens the livelihoods of the local community. These plans should be rejected or at the very least, a full public enquiry should be called.

Yours sincerely
